PEC-G - Undergraduate Student Agreement Program PEC-G

The Undergraduate Student Agreement Program PEC-G, offers higher education opportunities to citizens of developing countries with which Brazil maintains educational and cultural agreements. The Program is developed by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education, in partnership with public universities - federal and state - and private, the PEC-G selects foreign stu, between 18 and 25 years old, to carry out undergraduate studies in the country.

PEC-PG - Graduate Student Agreement Program 

The Undergraduate Student Agreement Program PEC-PG  is administered by the Cultural Departament  (DC) from the Ministry of International Affairs (Ministério das Relações Exteriores - MRE), by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). It constitutes an educational cooperation activity exercised with developing countries with which Brazil maintains an Educational, Cultural or Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement.

The PEC-PG contributes to the training of human resources, through the granting of master's (up to 24 months) and doctoral (up to 48 months) scholarships for foreign students to carry out studies in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that issue diplomas with national validity, in Graduate programs with a grade equal to or greater than 03 (three), according to the classification established by CAPES.                                                                                                                                               
The Program also aims to improve the qualification of university professors, researchers, professionals and higher education graduates who can contribute to the development of their countries.
The selection process of the Program is regulated by a specific public notice that is published annually and coordinated by CAPES.

Voluntary Sponsorship Program of Foreign Students
The Volunteer Sponsorship Program of Foreign Students at UFGD was created with the aim of facilitating the immersion of foreign students in our local culture and assisting them in day-to-day bureaucratic and practical issues. In addition, the Program has become an excellent opportunity to expand the cultural horizon and improve the linguistic and personal skills of our students.
 
The Profile of the Sponsor Student
 
Basically, to be a sponsor, the student at UFGD needs to:

  • Be communicative and be fluent in a foreign language, if want to sponsor students from non-Portuguese-speaking countries;
  • Be open to new cultural experiences and know how to respect differences and deal with unusual situations;
  • Have a good relationship with people in general, being cordial and responsible.
  • Know some tourist places to visit in Dourados, as well as how urban transport works;
  • Know how UFGD works.
