Teaching Degree in Rural Education

The Teaching Degree in Rural Education has two qualifications: Natural Sciences and Human Sciences. The graduation provides solid humanistic training and trains critical professionals for the multidimensional reality of Brazilian society, for the educational process and for social movement organizations, enabling them to produce knowledge that results in teaching practices, leadership of social movements, research and socio-educational interventions.

The course objective is to strengthen education and the possibility of qualified action in rural areas of Mato Grosso do Sul, with theoretical and methodological knowledge focused on the specificities, needs and sustainable development of the countryside in order to achieve improvements in quality of life.

The course alternates between University Time (students are accommodated and activities take place at UFGD) and University Community (lessons with professors who go to the centers and develop activities with the students). Currently, the course operates in seven service centers that are held in the settlements of the municipalities of Itaquirai, Ponta Porã, Nioaque, Sidrolândia, Corumbá, Itaporã and Nova Alvorada do Sul.
