    The International Affairs Office (Escritório de Assuntos Internacionais - ESAI) is a supplementary body of UFGD, created by the University Council through the Resolution no.15 from February 15^th, 2007, with the aim of promoting the academic exchange of students, professors and technical administrative staff, as well as assist the various sectors of UFGD in academic, technical-scientific, cultural and administrative activities on issues related to international affairs. In this way, ESAI seeks to encourage and develop agreements with educational institutions and    organizations that can make such actions viable.
    It is the responsibility of the International Affairs Office to maintain contact with foreign higher education and research institutions; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; International organizations, especially those linked to the Ministry of Education, among others, as well as with funding bodies in order to enable the execution of actions foreseen in the international cooperation agreements under the responsibility of the University.
