Economics

Description of the Course:
When we talk about economics, we tend to immediately think about money, prices and negotiations. The word ‘economics’ is widely spread and it makes us think about many situations, like the comments we watch in the news about the world’s financial situation. What the professional economist does, however, is to follow the tendencies and transformations regarding social and economic relations, and intervene in businesses in order to foment public and private development and understand possible implications deriving from economic matters in relation to the interests of governments, companies and several civil society institutions. These professionals study all phenomena related to the production and consumption of goods and services which may or may not involve money. They also help build, broaden and preserve the wealth of people, companies and governments. There are job opportunities for graduates from this course in private and public institutions, at city, state and federal levels. Besides, they can also work as self-employed consultants.
