Information System

Description of the Information System Course

Graduates from this course work with the management of information that is generated and distributed through computer networks inside an organization. The expression "information system" is used to describe an automated system (which can be named as Computer Information System) that involves people, computers and methods which are organized in order to collect, store, process, transfer and disseminate data with useful information for users. Information is essential for decision making nowadays and it allows companies, mainly, to estimate, plan alternatives and minimize risks, increasing competitiveness to businesses. The information system professionals develop, adapt and install software tools that make it easy for users to use and manage computer networks. The increasing access to smartphones and tablets heats up the market for these professionals in Brazil.
